About Ricky Savage
(founder of Skyline Property Surveys)
From Construction to Property Surveyor
I’ve spent the past 18 years working in construction, starting at the bottom and working my way up through the ranks. Along the way, I’ve held roles as a Project Manager (organising construction projects), Design Manager (working with architects and structural engineers), and Clerk of Works (carrying out inspections for quality and compliance).

This journey has given me a deep and practical understanding of buildings - whether they’re brand-new homes, retrofit projects, commercial developments, or historic properties in need of care. That experience is what I now bring to every property survey.

Skyline Property Surveys Founder: Ricky Savage
A Passion for How Buildings Work
Over the years I’ve developed a real fascination with buildings – why they last, why they fail, and how they can be improved for the future. I particularly enjoy working with older and historic properties, where every survey feels like uncovering a piece of history.

Outside of work, I’ll happily admit to being a bit of a nerd. I’m a fan of science and love shows like Grand Designs, George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces, Impossible Engineering, and Massive Engineering Mistakes. You’ll often find me exploring National Trust and English Heritage properties, admiring the craftsmanship and learning from the past.
Professional Memberships and Accreditations
I believe clients deserve complete confidence in their surveyor. That’s why I hold professional memberships and qualifications that reflect my expertise:

-
Residential Property Surveyors Association (RPSA) - proud member.
-
Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI) - member.
-
Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) - Chartered Member.

I keep my knowledge up to date through regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and I am fully covered with Professional Indemnity Insurance for building surveying.
Why I Founded Skyline Property Surveys
Moving home is one of the biggest decisions you’ll ever make – and I know from experience how stressful it can be. A survey shouldn’t add to that stress; it should bring clarity and confidence.
That’s why I founded Skyline Property Surveys.
My goal is simple: to make the survey process clear, straightforward, and stress-free. Every report I provide is written in plain English, backed up with clear photos, so you fully understand your home and can make informed decisions about your future.
